I remember a time when the customer was king. It might sound a little old-fashioned now, a little out of place in today’s ever-evolving, fast-moving world. But I grew up in a golden era for client service, and I’m working to bring it back. I started off in sales – cold calling with the Guardian newspaper, then touring the country as a field sales rep after a couple of years pounding the phone. Then I was off to Feather Brooksbank, tasked with setting up a recruitment media buying agency from scratch, in a market place where non existed. That went well and I ended up on their board and a director of a £150m turnover media buying agency.
Setting up on my own in 2006, I needed a fresh challenge. I wanted to help more people deliver better business solutions and expand and share the knowledge I had gathered working with some brilliant managers and leaders and with some fantastic companies. In the 13 years since I started Momentum SPK, I’ve evolved my skills and kept challenging the thinking of all the businesses I work with – making businesses more successful, increasing their profit and supporting and sharing the strain.
In short, whether you need someone to create a sales life-cycle, mentor you or your team, bring some non-exec savvy to your business, develop new business leads, investigate a new technology or offer a fresh set of eyes to your business, you’ll find it all comes with old-fashioned service and support.
