Even the most every-day activities in HR create a lot of data – and many (if not most) companies don’t know how to use it to their best advantage. It might sound odd, but I’ve always loved data. Use it…
Putting on an event must be easy. Getting great speakers to travel round the world must be simple. Getting of people to share your event on social and get involved in a big conversation about the direction of our industry must be a piece of cake.
After all, that’s exactly how it appeared at the Future of Recruitment event – held a couple of weeks ago at the Science Centre in Glasgow (what a venue!), and organised by one of our own Scottish success stories: Firefish software.
They really made the whole thing look like child’s play. It was seamless, from the moment we entered the venue until the time came to leave. It was excellent, superb, marvellous, brilliant stuff. Well done to Wendy and all her team from Pactive.
Rather than giving you a full-on, blow-by-blow account of the day – for that, you should take a look at Stephen O’Donnell’s excellent piece on Linkedin here – I’ll just show you what was happening on my twitter feed during Greg Savage’s brilliant session:
And, to answer Greg’s challenge: No, I can’t beat his Linkedin social score of 84. But I can run him awfully close…
Obviously, I’ll need to pull my socks up and make some improvements!
Hopefully, this will be the first of many events that Firefish lay on for us. It was a useful learning experience and a fascinating day. Here’s to many more. Thanks Wendy!
